Privacy policy

This policy covers the Bedtime Magic Stories app for ChatGPT (the "App"). The App is operated by Avatar 8 LLC ("we", "us"). Questions or requests: ops@avatar33.com.

Who the App is for

The App is for parents, caregivers and other adults who want to write a bedtime story to read to a child. It is not directed to children, and children should not use it themselves. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

What we process

To write a story, ChatGPT sends the App only these inputs: a child's first name, the child's age (2 to 12), up to four interests, a theme, and an optional length. Please use a first name or nickname only. Do not include last names, addresses, schools, photos or other identifying details.

How we use it

The inputs are used for one purpose: to write and display the story you asked for in that same request. We do not use them for advertising, profiling, analytics or training AI models.

Retention

The App is stateless. It does not save stories, names, ages or interests in any database, file or account, and our code does not write them to logs. Each request's inputs exist only in server memory while the story is being written and are discarded when the response is sent.

Who receives data

• OpenAI (ChatGPT). Your conversation, including the story, is handled by ChatGPT under OpenAI's privacy policy.
• Bedtime Magic (illustrations and book prices). To show a matching picture and current printed-book prices, the App may ask bedtimemagic.com for a generic scene picture using only two fixed categories, the theme (for example "courage") and a scene type (for example "dinosaur"). The child's name, age and interests are never sent. The picture is shared art, not made from your details.
• Vercel (hosting). The App runs on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel's infrastructure processes standard technical request data (such as IP address, time and the address requested) to deliver and secure the service, under Vercel's privacy policy. The story inputs are not part of that request data and are not logged by us.

We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking.

The App can show links to bedtimemagic.com about printed hardcover books and how Bedtime Magic works. The App does not pass the child's name or story details in those links; it adds only a label showing the visit came from ChatGPT. If you choose to visit, bedtimemagic.com's own privacy policy applies to anything you enter there, and any purchase happens on that site, not in ChatGPT.

Your choices

Because we keep nothing, there is no stored story or profile to view, export or delete. You can delete the conversation in ChatGPT at any time, and you can disconnect the App in ChatGPT settings. Contact us with any privacy question or request.

Security

Connections to the App use HTTPS. The App needs no account, password or sign-in.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the effective date above, and we will describe material changes on this page.
